Arusha National Park”reedbuck and waterbuck can be spotted, while shy bushbuck and duiker keep to the forested parts of the park”

urlThis Park is remarkable for it’s range of habitats, a miniature volcanic crater lakes (the Monella lakes). In addition, on a clear day there are spectacular views of both Mount Meru. Arusha National Park offers many beautiful panoramic views. An opportunity not to be missed on your safari pictures!
One of the most beautiful parks in Tanzania and located 32 KM from Arusha.. Aside from the abundance of wildlife, fauna and flora there are three spectacular features; momella lakes, Meru Crater, and the Ngurdoto Crater. Both Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru can be seen from the park when the weather is fine.
Arusha National Park is testimony to the fact that good things do come in small packages. Over 100 times smaller than the Serengeti measuring a modest 137sq km, Arusha has been described as a gem amongst parks
With the altitude varying from 1500m to over 4500m, there are three distinct areas – the Ngurdoto Crater (nicknamed the Little Ngorongoro), the Momela Lakes and the rugged Mt Meru (4566m). The swampy crater, surrounded by forest, heaves with wildlife from colourful birds, to the beautiful bushbuck and the nimble two-tone colobus monkey.
The Momela Lakes are just as spectacular. Due to their varying mineral content and consequent algae growth, each one is a different colour like a scene from Fantasia and herds of elegant flamingos act as the perfect garnish. Take a climb up the geologically eccentric Mt Meru or simply take in the views of Mt Kilimanjaro. To say the park is small, it still manages to squeeze in hippos, buffalo, elephants, leopards, hyenas, warthogs, baboons, zebra and pretty much every African animal you could think of. Size really doesn’t matter.
